News and Updates

Beginning January 3, 2023, my new address is 1162-343 Preston St.

Due to an unforeseen medical emergency, the office will be closed until further notice (effective October 18, 2023).

Current patients have been updated via email as to any next steps and continued care instructions.

Unfortunately, I’m not able to accept new clients at this time, as I anticipate that I’ll be fully booked for the foreseeable future, and my waitlist is closed. If you’re seeking therapy sooner, I can suggest a few colleagues who may have earlier availability.

For anyone needing help with defining or implementing Self Care, please watch this amazing and informative TEDx Talk.

** Office hours are Monday-Friday, 9 AM to 2 PM. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, I will still be working as a hybrid model, offering both virtual and in-person appointments available on all days (depending on your comfort level and preference).

I am unable to offer psychological assessments and evaluations at this time.

Important COVID-19 Statement and Resources

In response to COVID-19, I will be providing secure, confidential teletherapy sessions via phone or video that you can access from the comfort of your home, office, or on-the-go.

DR. BRIANNA JARIS WELCOMES YOU

As a psychologist, I am here to help you navigate many of life’s challenges. I am a registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario, and a member of both the Canadian Psychological Association and the Ontario Psychological Association. I’m here to support you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery.

HOW CAN PSYCHOTHERAPY HELP ME?

Holding Hands

Through psychotherapy, I utilize validated techniques and treatment procedures, in a non-judgmental and supportive environment, that can help you to work through problems, uncomfortable/intense feelings, or other mental health issues that may be of concern to you.

The biggest and most important step on the path to self-improvement is to have better self-awareness and a better understanding of who you are. This requires getting to know the not-so-pretty parts of yourself, which can be easier with a non-judgmental therapist at your side who can help guide you on your path to self-discovery.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR FIRST VISIT

Our first session together is a “get to know one another” meeting to ensure that we will work well together and that I am the best person to help you with your issues. I will try to understand your current difficulties and why you sought help at this time. Once we both agree to work together, we will collaborate on developing a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among clients and encourage them to adopt healthier attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a "magic pill" or a "quick-fix": therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from both the client and therapist alike. But in the end, making small changes to maladaptive/unhealthy behaviors and thinking styles, as well as learning to cope with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain, can bring life-altering results.
